ARCADE THEMED HOTEL SUITES
HOTEL ARCADIA SUITES

108 1/2 SW Park St.

McLean, IL  61754

7 guests | 3 bedrooms | 5 beds | 1.5 baths

IMPORTANT NOTE: Since these pictures were taken, we have done a couple of extensive renovations. First of all the flooring has been changed.  The Bedroom/Bathroom half of the place has had the original hardwood floors polished and restored (no more carpet).  The other half of the place has had new modern wood flooring installed.  Second, we have remodeled the 1/2 bath and turned it into another full bath with all new washer/dryer, shower, sink, and toilet.  Third, we have removed the deck in order to put a new roof on the entire building.  The deck has not yet been rebuilt, but will be and will be double the size of the original deck.  We will get new pictures uploaded soon.  And we will be replacing the deck as soon as we find the right contractor to build it.

This is an amazing arcade-themed space, about 1700 sq. ft. with 3 roomy bedrooms, huge living room and kitchen with cathedral ceilings. Hotel Arcadia Suite offers total privacy in a peaceful second floor loft-style apartment. Comes with an arcade multigame on free play, huge HD TV (and 3 others in the bedrooms) all with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Second floor deck with nice gas grill. Cook your meals in the full kitchen; do laundry in the laundry room; enjoy the gorgeous fireplace.

The Space

This building was entirely renovated about 15 years ago.  My new wife and I moved in and lived here for 10 years (minus a short move to silicon valley).  It is on the second floor, just above my arcade restoration shop. If I'm around during your stay and you have any interest, I'd be happy to show you the shop where I bring back to life classic arcade games and pinball machines.

There are about 15-20 stairs you must ascend to enter this space. Also, there is a commercial grade entrance lock as well as an additional door lock and bolt at the top of the stairs, providing total security during your stay. Fortunately, this is entirely unnecessary, as McLean is one of the safest towns on Earth.

Hotel Arcadia Suites will comfortably sleep 7 people in three individual bedrooms, each with locks and their own TVs, dressers, and closets.  The master bedroom has a queen bed and a single bed, the second bedroom has two twin beds, and the third bedroom has a double bed.  You are welcome to bring an air bed or sleep on the couch as well if you have an extra person or two.

By the way, there is a small extra guest charge simply to compensate for the extra cleaning / laundry that is necessary when we have to open the additional bedrooms.

Guest access

While staying at Hotel Arcadia Suite, you will have full access to the entire place, except for any bedrooms you don't need. For example, if you only need one bedroom, we will close off the other two since they will be unneeded and it will reduce the cleaning burden upon your checkout.

You are welcome to use any and all of the amenities of the space: (deck, grill currently unavailable) two free play multi-videogames, free play Crystal Castles game, Whitewater pinball machine (10 free credits, then 25 cents per play to compensate for wear and tear), Blu-ray DVD player, huge big screen TV,  fireplace, dishwasher, stove, oven, fridge, microwave, washer, dryer, etc.  We have stocked the kitchen with a set of pots, pans, kitchen tools, dishes, glasses and silverware.

Extended Stay

Hotel Arcadia Suites would be a great choice for an extended stay.  It is a fully equipped apartment with all you need to make your own meals, wash your own clothes and dishes, and stay entertained in your downtime.  We also offer significant rate discounts for stays over 7 days and 30 days.

Interaction with guests

There will be no interaction necessary between guests and myself, simply because we have a commercial digital lock for entrance to the hotel. Before your stay, we will send you your own custom door code to access the space upon arrival. The code will remain active during your entire stay and will be erased afterwards.

Of course, if you would like to interact with me, I'm a friendly guy and would be happy to show you around the growing arcade empire we are building here in McLean. Or we can just sit and talk arcade games, strolling down memory lane together. But you'll have to track me down via phone / text...I will leave you alone unless you summon me.

Other things to note

Another interesting tidbit about this place is that it is located on two main transportation arteries: Historic US Route 66, and the primary railroad between Chicago and St. Louis. And when I say "ON" I mean it. You can just about reach out and touch the trains when they come by....LOL. That's a bit of an exaggeration. But if you or one of your kids is into trains, they will really get a kick out of watching the trains go by on our second floor deck where the trains are just out of reach.
