The Space

This unique, opulent living space was designed by architect Jeremy Kotter of Ferry and Associates and constructed by Charlie Knapp Builders. It is just above Arcadia / Hotel Arcadia and was planned as the dream home for Arcadia's founder. It is richly furnished with modern furniture and has every possible convenience and luxury.

Ascending the wide, original 19 stairs into the loft, guests step into a beautiful rotunda with white leather seating all around. The open floor plan offers an entrance to the kitchen on one side and the dining/living room on the other side.

​

The custom gourmet kitchen has gorgeous hand-crafted maple and cherry cabinets, along with top of the line appliances, solid surface countertops and a huge flat-panel TV for watching cooking videos, or whatever you like.

The dining room seats 12 comfortably, and also offers amazing views of the beautiful downtown park and historic 1850s mansion across the street. You can also watch visitors come and go from all of the arcade attractions around the downtown square.

In addition to ample seating, the living room has an un-paralleled fourteen foot TV / Movie / Gaming 3D DLP projector with in-wall Klipsch 7.1 Dolby/DTS surround sound. Guests can play XBox games, watch 3D Blu-Ray movies, or enjoy amazing music from their favorite bluetooth device in this acoustically optimized room with 15" powered Klipsch subwoofer.

Beyond the living room are three cozy, large bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. Two of the bedrooms have 70" Internet connected TVs with Netflix, Amazon Prime and whatever else is out there, as well as sleeper sofas that offer a bed for 2 more people. The third bedroom is TV-free and just a nice peaceful place to rest with a huge skylight.

Behind the two larger bedrooms is a huge second-story deck that overlooks the large, fenced backyard. Facing West, it's the perfect place to relax at the end of a long day and watch the gorgeous sunset over the trees and peaceful homes of quiet McLean, IL.

Or, if you want a long night of endless fun, descend the silver spiral staircase in the rear of the loft into a huge, 1000 sq. ft. private game room with about two dozen arcade games, all on FREE PLAY. Also a foosball table, piano, pinball machine (25 cents per play) and a nice treadmill. The back door of the game room exits to the nice, large back yard, where you can help yourself to anything growing in our large garden plot and enjoy the flowers and other landscaping (depending on season).

This is the perfect place to have a quick but comfortable 3-day vacation where you can get your arcade gaming fix. Or host a small family reunion here - one bedroom for each family unit.

Or why not rent this place to host Thanksgiving this year - a place where you can cook and enjoy the meal, while hosting the out-of-towners in luxury.

Or do what we did - host our 25th wedding anniversary here. It's a perfect place to have the guest reception during the day, and then relive your honeymoon afterwards!

No big drinking bashes though. Only tasteful events with drinking in moderation please. McLean is a quiet, peaceful, safe town....let's keep it that way.

It's not often that a place as nice as this is made available to the public for rental. And it may not be available for long - we may decide to move back in or take it off the market. Come check it out!

Guest access

Guests will have full access to all common areas in the home, as well as however many bedrooms they will need for their stay. Up to 3 bedrooms with full bathrooms are available. Unneeded bedrooms will be kept locked to reduce cleaning costs and lower the rental price. Kitchen, rotunda, dining room, living room, deck, rec room, and back yard will be available. Also, we will make the arcades in town available while guests are staying. We just need communication to know when guests would like the museums open.

Extended Stay

The Luxury Arcade Palace would be a great choice for an extended stay.  It is a fully equipped apartment with all you need to make your own meals, wash your own clothes and dishes, and stay entertained in your downtime.  We also offer significant rate discounts for stays over 7 days and 30 days.

Interaction with guests

There will be no interaction necessary between guests and myself, simply because we have a commercial digital lock for entrance to the hotel. Before your stay, we will send you your own custom door code to access the space upon arrival. The code will remain active during your entire stay and will be erased afterwards.
